Cambodia and Thailand dispute in this land since 1962.
Newstovote - After a long dispute with Thailand, Cambodia could finally have the ancient Preah Vihear temple area officially. Monday, November 11, 2013, International Court of Justice in The Hague ruled that Cambodia had sovereignty over the land area of the temple which is located on the border of the two countries.
"Court unanimously declared that Cambodia had sovereignty over Preah Vihear entire region," said Peter Tomka, president of the International Court of Justice, as quoted from the BBC website.

With this decision, said Tomka, Thailand must withdraw all troops and police from around the Hindu temple that has been the 900-year-old.
In 1962 the International Court of Justice ruled that the temple belonged to Cambodia, but did not issue a ruling on the hills around the temple area. Thailand confirms that they have land in the hills.
