High Unemployment, French President Expected to Resign

Newstovote - French President Francois Hollande shouted by demonstrators protesting the economic policies and rising unemployment in the country.

The demonstrators called for the resignation of the French leader. "Hollande back!" and "Socialist Dictatorship" repeatedly shouted by the demonstrators.


The incident happened during Armistice Day commemoration ceremony held in Paris on Monday, November 11 local time.

The socialist president also cheered when he walked to the Champs Elysees to lay a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier. Police also arrested 70 demonstrators in the incident.


The arrest of demonstrators protested. "It is a shame because we had no right to speak without being caught," said a protester as reported by News.com.au.

According to him, called 'Hollande retreat' is not offensive.

Armistice Day in France is commemorated every 11 November 11. Memorial Day is also known as Veteran's Day is to remember those who died or were wounded in World War I and other wars.

Hollande's popularity has fallen sharply today amid growing public discontent over lack of economic growth in the European country. Coupled with rising taxes and soaring unemployment continues.
